Zinnebir is a perfectly balanced Pale Ale with a golden color slightly leaning towards amber. It develops fruity and hoppy aromas reminiscent of dried apricot and orange marmalade. These are complemented by very subtly biscuity malt notes, as well as a nice bitterness. Born in the cellars of a Brussels squat in March 2002, it is the founding beer of Brasserie de la Senne.

Learn more about Brasserie de la Senne

What are the essential quality criteria for Brasserie de la Senne in the production of its beers?

For Brasserie de la Senne, quality is an obsession. They prioritize taste quality by creating characterful beers without commercial compromises. Furthermore, they ensure the use of top-quality raw materials, directly sourced from producers with whom they maintain long-term relationships based on respect and friendship. Quality in the brewing process is also crucial, with particular attention to hygiene and selected technologies. They are committed to preserving the richness of flavors brought by the raw materials. The brewery's 'Quality' department regularly conducts analyses to maintain these high standards.

How does Brasserie de la Senne approach sustainability and ecology in beer production?

Brasserie de la Senne invests in sustainability and ecology through various initiatives. For example, they have installed photovoltaic panels on their roof to generate some of their electricity. Moreover, they recover the energy released during brewing to heat their process water. Cleaning and disinfection products are recycled through reuse, and they have installed rainwater recovery tanks for sanitation. Brewing residues are naturally recycled by local farmer's cows. All of their equipment is designed for optimal energy efficiency, and their new building is insulated according to the latest standards.

How long does it take Brasserie de la Senne to produce a beer, and why is this process so important?

Brasserie de la Senne dedicates a minimum of five weeks to beer production, which is relatively long by current high fermentation standards. They refuse to artificially accelerate the production process, preferring a natural process to maintain the quality of their beers. While many techniques exist to speed up production, the brewery believes that this would come at the expense of the quality of their creations.

How does Brasserie de la Senne collaborate with raw material producers?

Brasserie de la Senne maintains direct and long-term relationships with raw material producers. They carefully select their raw materials, ensuring they meet their high-quality standards. This collaboration is based on respect, friendship, and fair payment to producers, contributing to a sustainable and ethical supply chain.
