This chocolate and oat cake is an ideal option for a nourishing breakfast or a healthy, indulgent snack. Thanks to the addition of Pulse chocolate protein powder, it packs over 20g of protein per serving — perfect for a satisfying treat. Make it ahead and enjoy it all week long!
Ingredients
- 180 g rolled oats
- 25 g cocoa powder
- 60 g Pulse chocolate protein powder (2 servings)
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda or baking powder
- 300 ml plant-based milk
- 50 g dates, blended with 60 ml hot water
- ½ banana, mashed
- 65 g Greek yogurt (or plant-based alternative)
- 2 tbsp (35 g) melted coconut oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 75 g dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs
Recipe
- Blend the dates with hot water and the banana until smooth.
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients: oats, cocoa, protein powder, salt, and baking soda.
- Add the plant-based milk, date purée, mashed banana, yogurt, coconut oil, and vanilla. Stir until well combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Grease a baking dish with coconut oil and pour in the batter.
- Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Let cool before serving. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
