Beeswax is a yellowish plastic substance secreted by bees, which build the honeycombs of their hives with it. This is a quite rare product: to obtain 300g of wax, bees have to produce between 2 and 7.5kg of honey. Wax is harvested at the end of the season and without any solvent. Centrifugation and separation with boiling water are only used. With its smooth touch and nice smell, beeswax is unique for its film-forming, moisturising, protective, anti-static and sanitising properties. It is a component of many products, such candles, wood maintenance products… These flakes melt at 64°c.
